Passion Fruit oil is a high-linoleic acid oil (about 70% LA and 15% oleic acid). Being a high-LA oil, it is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone. Linoleic acid converts to arachidonic acid in the skin, which leads to prostaglandin E2, which is an inflammatory modulator. This means linoleic acid can reduce inflammation in the skin and many acne-prone skin types are found to be deficient in linoleic acid. Furthermore, it’s a rich source of lycopene (a carotenoid) as well as natural Vitamin E that help promote collagen production and battle the effects of sun damage, pollution, and other environmental stressors.
